The Minister for Fisheries and Aquaculture, Hon. Mavis Hawa Koomson, on Monday, October 3, 2022, met all 14 NPP Constituency Chairpersons in coastal communities within Greater Accra Region at the Party Headquarters. The Constituency Chairpersons were led by the Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the Party, Mr. Divine Agorhum.

The meeting, which was facilitated by the National Executives of the NPP, was to afford the Hon. Minister an opportunity to interact with the Constituency Chairpersons on the best possible ways to address some of the legitimate grievances in respect of matters that have to do with the operations of the Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture.

The meeting explored ways of ensuring effective collaboration between the Fisheries and Aquaculture Ministry on one hand and the Party on the other in the quest to improve the livelihoods of fisherfolk, and to further enhance the fishing and aquaculture industry in the country.

The meeting was attended by National Executives of the Party, led by the 3rd National Vice Chairman of the Party, Alhaji Masawuud. Also in attendance were the National Treasurer, Dr. Charles Dwamena; National Organizer, Lawyer Henry Nana Boakye; Deputy General Secretary, Dr. Antoinette Tsibu-Darko; Director of Finance and Administration, Mr. William Yamoah among other party executives.

The unprecedented meeting forms part of the initiative introduced by the current national executives to improve party-government relationship through regular engagements. This meeting follows the Hon Minister’s visit to
the Party Headquarters last week, where she was received by the General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong.
