GES receives 365 Pickup trucks and 493 motorbikes

The Minister of Education joined His Excellency the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia at the Black Star Square this day 12th of March 2020 for the handing over of 365 Isuzu Double Cabi Pickup trucks and 493 motorbikes to the Ghana Education Service and other agencies under the Ministry of Education. The Vice President presided over the ceremony on behalf of President Akufo-Addo.

All the 260 Metropolitan, Municipal and District Education Offices in the country received one pickup truck each, whilst the motorbikes are for use by various circuit supervisors.

In total, 840 pickups and 2000 motorbikes have been procured. Today’s ceremony was for the presentation of the first batch.

In addition to this, 350 buses, comprising 100 33-seater buses and 250 66-seater buses have also been procured and will be distributed among our senior high schools shortly.
The procurement of these vehicles is fully funded by GETFund.
